Welcome Blanket Continues!

Welcome Blanket continues. This ongoing project reimagines the border between Mexico and the US as a length of inclusion, 2000 miles of yarn to make individual welcome blankets for new refugees coming to the US. Makers include notes about immigration/migration and relocation stories important to their families as part of welcome notes. These blankets are shown together and then distributed to refugee resettlement partners to gift to our newest neighbors. While we aren’t working on a gallery show, we support our partners with a special program: Welcome Blanket On Call.

Our dear partners at Miry’s List reached out to us because they are now helping resettle 25 new families every month. Their families love Welcome Blankets and Miry’s List would love to include these beautiful gifts as part of their welcome kits.
